Terms and conditions
These terms (“Terms”) govern your use of Chicken in a Suit (the “Site”). By accessing the Site, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.
1. Editorial content and intellectual property
All editorial content on the Site — articles, headlines, photographs, illustrations, audio, and video produced by our newsroom — is owned by Chicken in a Suit (or its licensors) and protected by copyright, trademark, and other applicable intellectual-property laws.
You may:
- Quote up to 200 words of any article in your own work, provided you attribute the quote to Chicken in a Suit with a link to the original.
- Embed our official social-media posts using the platform’s standard embed tools.
- Share links to our articles freely on any platform.
You may not, without prior written permission:
- Republish full articles, even with attribution.
- Use our content for AI training or model fine-tuning.
- Use our trademarks, logos, or trade dress for commercial purposes or in any way that suggests endorsement.
- Sell, sublicense, or commercially exploit any of our content.
For permissions, syndication, or licensing inquiries, write to press@example.com.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Site lawfully and respectfully. Specifically, you will not:
- Scrape the Site at a rate that materially affects performance for other readers.
- Impersonate the newsroom or any of its writers.
- Submit false or misleading information through any contact form.
- Use the Site to distribute malware, phishing content, or unlawful material.
- Circumvent technical measures intended to protect the Site or its users.
3. User-submitted content
If you send us a tip, comment, or letter to the editor, you grant Chicken in a Suit a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to publish, edit, and reuse the submission for editorial purposes, with attribution by name unless you request otherwise. You retain ownership of your submission.
We reserve the right to decline, edit, or remove any user-submitted content for any reason, including length, accuracy, civility, and editorial fit.
4. Third-party content and links
The Site may link to third-party websites, embed third-party media, or display third-party advertising. We are not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of third parties, and inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.
5. Disclaimers
The Site and its content are provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We make no warranty that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components. While we strive for accuracy, errors do occur — see our corrections page for the process to flag and resolve them.
Editorial content is journalism, not professional advice. See our disclaimer page for limits in financial, legal, medical, and other specialized contexts.
6. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chicken in a Suit and its writers, editors, and affiliates are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site. Our aggregate liability for any direct damages is limited to $100 USD or the equivalent in your local currency.
This limitation does not apply where prohibited by law, including in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct.
7. Termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the Site, at any time and for any reason, with or without notice. Sections that by their nature survive termination — including intellectual-property provisions, limitations of liability, and dispute resolution — will continue to apply.
8. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms when our practices, our content licensing model, or our legal obligations change. The “last updated” date above is the source of truth. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least seven days following publication.
9. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the publisher’s home jurisdiction (see the about page). Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, unless mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country require otherwise.
We encourage informal resolution of disputes. If you have a complaint, contact us at legal@example.com before pursuing formal action — most issues can be resolved that way.
10. Contact
For legal questions about these Terms, write to legal@example.com.
