About us

Chicken in a Suit is an independent US publication covering four desks — Business, Tech, Money, and Culture — for a primarily US audience and the wider English-speaking world. We publish in plain language, with original reporting and analysis, and without paywalls or subscription gates.

Our mission

We exist to help readers understand what is happening in the world without spin or padding. Every story we publish is meant to leave a reader better-informed than when they arrived. We test that against ourselves on every piece.

We cover stories in four areas:

  • Business — companies, markets, deals, and the capital flows reshaping modern work.
  • Tech — AI, big tech, hardware, and the regulatory landscape behind the headlines.
  • Money — practical guides to earning, saving, and investing better, plus the macro context that frames them.
  • Culture — film, books, music, internet life, and the conversations defining the moment.

How we are funded

The Site is funded by a combination of display advertising and direct reader support. Advertising partners — including Google, through services such as AdSense — operate under their own privacy practices, summarized in our privacy policy and cookie policy.

We do not take undisclosed sponsorships. We do not run native advertising presented as journalism. When sponsored content appears, it is visually distinct and clearly labeled.

How we report

Our editorial policy describes our sourcing, fact-checking, conflict-of-interest, and AI-tool standards in detail. The short version: every claim of fact comes from a named source, a public document, or our own reporting. Every story is reviewed by at least one editor other than its author. We disclose conflicts of interest to readers, and we correct errors promptly via the corrections page.

The team

The newsroom is small. The masthead is the entire team:

  • Amanda Aguiar — Founding Editor. Amanda runs the newsroom and writes across politics, sports, and culture. She covered city hall and feature reporting before launching the publication.

We are actively expanding the team and welcome pitches and applications at newsroom@example.com.

Where we publish from

The publisher is incorporated in the United States and operates with editorial staff distributed across the US, the UK, and Brazil. Our reporting focuses on stories of interest to an English-speaking international audience, with particular attention to the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Accessibility

We aim for WCAG 2.2 AA compliance across the Site. See the accessibility page for detail and how to flag a barrier.

Contact
